What the Army Sprint-Drag-Carry Calculator helps you understand

Repeat measurements under similar conditions for a more useful trend.

The Army Sprint-Drag-Carry Calculator scores the Sprint-Drag-Carry (SDC) event from the ACFT — often considered the most physically demanding and combat-relevant event. The SDC is a timed lane event consisting of five 25-meter shuttles: sprint, sled drag (90 lbs), lateral shuffle, two-kettlebell carry (40 lbs each), and a final sprint. This event tests anaerobic capacity, functional strength, and the ability to perform multiple physical tasks in rapid succession — directly simulating battlefield actions like sprinting to cover, dragging a casualty, moving laterally, and carrying ammunition or equipment. The SDC has one of the highest failure rates because it challenges multiple fitness domains simultaneously.

Use current official event guidance when preparing for an assessed score.

Check the calculator labels before entering a value.
What is the SDC event sequence?+

Five 25-meter shuttles (50m each, down and back): (1) Sprint, (2) Drag a 90-lb sled, (3) Lateral shuffle without crossing feet, (4) Carry two 40-lb kettlebells, (5) Sprint. Total distance is 250 meters.

What time is needed to pass the SDC?+

Passing times (60 points) vary by age and gender. Young males generally need to complete the SDC in under 3:00. Maximum scores require approximately 1:33 or faster.

How should I train for the SDC?+

Train with sled drags, farmer's carries, shuttle runs, and interval sprints. Practice the full event sequence regularly to develop efficient transitions between movements. Grip strength training is especially important for the drag and carry portions.

Why is the SDC so difficult?+

The SDC combines sprinting, dragging, shuffling, and carrying in rapid succession, demanding anaerobic power, grip strength, leg drive, and mental toughness simultaneously. It provides minimal recovery between high-intensity efforts.
